Free Social Networking Tools

By Daniel · Comments (0)

By Paul Yates

As you get more and more sucked into social networking for your business it becomes increasingly important to ensure that you get the best efficiency out of the time that you spend. Maybe two or three years ago I would sit at my computer in a morning, open Outlook and check my mails, now it’s all to easy to do the same with all the social networking opportunities that are out there but it’s all too easy to find ourselves social networking from first thing in the morning until lunch time and then thinking “what have I achieved?”

I bet there’s many of you out there that can empathize with me so I’ve been doing a lot of work to ensure that whatever time I spend social networking is giving me a good return on my investment. In particular I find that Twitter is becoming more important in my daily routine so a lot of what I have to say revolves around some of the free Twitter tools out there but there are in addition some knock on effects to other business social networking sites too such as Facebook and LinkedIn. Can Twitter Replace Face To Face Business Networking?

By Daniel · Comments (1)

By Paul Yates

I’ve been a passionate business networker for many years and have really benefited from this low cost method of marketing my business. I don’t advertise my business, I don’t push out flyers all I do is network. Over the years I’ve built up many contacts and these trusted business relationships have delivered a continuous flow of referrals that have kept my business running.

There are techniques and principles to being a successful business networker and what I’m finding interesting is that a lot of these same rules apply not only to face to face business networking but also to the social networking site Twitter. I make the distinction between Twitter and other social networking sites such as Facebook or LinkedIn because with Twitter you can strike up a conversation quickly without the other party feeling pressured or threatened. It’s as though people who tweet accept the fact that they are in the business of having conversations. Read More→

Techniques For Business Networking On Twitter

By Daniel · Comments (0)

By Paul Yates

It’s interesting to note the parallels that there are between business social networking on Twitter and face to face business networking. I made the point in a earlier article about how Twitter could be described as targeted business networking because you can preempt much of the initial meeting and move straight onto relationship building much more quickly than you can do face to face.

With face to face business networking events (if you’re smart) you’ve already grabbed a copy of the attendee list and know exactly who it is that you want to talk to, and that’s what I mean by targeted. The problem at face to face meetings is that rarely is the attendee list given out prior to the meeting so that you can plan but that’s not the same as with Twitter. Read More→

Many people see that in the coming years there will be some changes in the way the search engines operate and rank websites. They see the influence of social media, which has grown phenomenally in the recent years, and it will be a factor to reckon with, in the way the search engines rank sites.

It has been observed that people tend to be getting more dissatisfied with the search engines giving outdated posts when they search for news and updates. Especially, with the likes of the younger generation, they want to know the latest updates on the social media.
