Generating Leads From LinkedIn – What No One Tells You

By Daniel · Comments (0)

By Renee M Arpin

LinkedIn… Just the word (at first) made me cringe. I had seen what the site was about and it all looked a bit too fancy schmancy for me. It looked upper class and confusing… but with a little research I’ve found that it’s actually an AMAZING tool that can be used to generate leads.

As with anything else, it’s discipline and consistency that will get you where you want to go.. and that’s the name of the game with LinkedIn as well.

Now I’m not asking you to become a LinkedIn fanatic, just that you set aside half an hour to an hour per week to work on your LinkedIn profile, groups, page, leads, connections and recommendations. (I know, I know!! What the heck is she talking about? Allow me to explain.) Read More→

What Exactly Is LinkedIn?

By Daniel · Comments (0)

By Andre Arnett

LinkedIn is a community of knowledgeable experts from around the globe. Once you become a member of it, you build a user profile that summarizes your specialized knowledge and achievements. You will find, be launched to, and work together with skilled specialists you will want to work with to achieve your goals.

This skilled social networking giant was launched in December 2002 and was formally unveiled for general public use in May 2003. LinkedIn is available for global use and also as of August 2010 LinkedIn documented more than seventy five million users. Furthermore, it permits them to manage the way they are identified by the world wide web – LinkedIn ranks very well in Google, therefore it is your LinkedIn user profile which will be shown initially should you research your name. Top Ten Tips to Build a Stronger LinkedIn Profile

By Daniel · Comments (0)
By Marc W Halpert
LinkedIn is synonymous with interpersonal business connections. Looking at my LinkedIn homepage on any day, mostly what I see is “Harry is now connected to Sally,” “John is now connected to David” etc.
Only a small minority of LinkedIn members are REALLY using the available tools beyond the easy way of starting connections; more businesspeople need to start posting articles they like, expressing opinions, listing upcoming events, asking or answering questions, commenting on someone else’s posting, or (gasp!) using one or more of the free LinkedIn apps.
So as a fellow contributor to the global personal learning network (PLN) we all share with each other in LinkedIn, I put into written words selections from educational seminars I have been giving in the New York metro area, to evangelize on the “Top Ten Tips to Build a Stronger LinkedIn Profile.” Read More→

3 Things to Avoid When Using LinkedIn Groups

By Daniel · Comments (0)

By J. H. Lee

Each and every day, you might find folks who logon to the Net and type “how to use LinkedIn Groups” into a search engine window. Then they click the control key to search. What might motivate them to do that? There’s an almost limitless range of reasons. One can find both negative and positive reasons.

Pleasure seeking or positive reasons are for acquiring something or satisfying a “want”. Negative or pain avoidance reasons concern avoiding some negative thing you don’t want to have or have happen. Just about all things have both positive and negative sides; one of these generally dominates. Here we will be working with the negative, pain avoidance side. Read More→

LinkedIn Search: Finding and Connecting

By Daniel · Comments (0)

By Ian R McAllister

If you can master LinkedIn Search, then in theory you can connect to almost anyone in the world of business, globally. But having seen a rise recently in spam-connection requests from various covert internet marketers, and discovering that a leading Internet Marketer is now saying to his followers that “there’s no money on Facebook, so get to LinkedIn and add them to your list” – I decided to post this. Why LinkedIn Isn’t Just for Job Seekers

By Daniel · Comments (0)
By Pamela Dayes
By now most people have heard the name LinkedIn; it is a B2B Social Media website that recently went public on the New York Stock Exchange. For many people including me LinkedIn is a powerful online resource for building a network of contacts and connections for career objectives. But even if you’re not looking to land a new job, LinkedIn is a powerful professional networking site that small businesses can use to help promote their business.
LinkedIn differs from social media sites like Facebook, in that users seem to be more interested in establishing professional connections rather than looking for friends and family. LinkedIn launched in May 2003, but the membership is still rapidly growing. Recently the company reported that “it has been adding a million members every ten days,”which is fantastic news for small businesses, people who work-from-home, and online marketers, because it means there’s huge potential for getting more business exposure and for generating new leads. LinkedIn: The Power of Groups

By Daniel · Comments (0)

By Ian R McAllister

Since the recent IPO of LinkedIn, many more professionals are learning the power of this business orientated social network. It enables you to connect, be found, control your image, and ask questions of your peers, suppliers and competitors. This should enable you to sell more, buy more at a better price, go to market with willing buyers, and should you ever require it, have a network which will get you employed quickly.

I have written before about what I consider the most powerful aspect of LinkedIn in making connections, that of asking and answering Answers. But while Answers is a great and highly random way of accessing expertise and knowledge, its focused counter-point is that of LinkedIn groups.

So how do you go about effectively using LinkedIn groups in your business networking?

Before Answers, there were Groups… Read More→
