You can share some of your interest while you connect with your friends or new readers, or use your Squidoo lens to build up your online identity. However, there are many who are realizing the benefit of becoming a Squidoo Lensmaster so that they can reap the rewards of some Squidoo money.

Squidoo was founded in 2005, launched in 2006, grew 91% in 2008 and was of the 100 most popular websites in 2009 inside the US. It also has over 120,000 people that have subscribed to the “Squidoo Lens of the Day” award and email, full of tips for making better lenses.

They call their pages “lenses” because each lens is one person’s focus on something that he/she is interested in, something that matters to them. And eventually after mastering their lens they become a Squidoo Lensmaster.

And Squidoo being liked by Google, but not utilized by the public (when compared to articles, videos and Twitter) becomes a great filler for a Google first page ranking.

When you first go to Squidoo, you can browse through different lenses and again as you will see, there are endless topics written about. But Squidoo was founded on the premise that “…everyone is an expert about something”. Thus, many become what this community calls a Squidoo Lensmaster.

So basically, any topic you can think of, you could make a Squidoo Lens on. Pick a specific keyword that your knowledgeable about and you can build your own Squidoo Lens around that keyword.

And with Squidoo having great search engine rankings, it’s a great place to build a relationship with your prospects and for them to get to know you. That is why Squidoo marketing is on the rise. You will also start to see more references to Squidoo in areas like how to make money at home or how to make money on the internet.

To sum it up, “…Squidoo gives you a simple way to gather, share, and spread information on a topic you care about.”
